Applicants with a bachelor’s degree in an academic discipline and/or an education degree are preferred. The ideal candidate would cultivate strong partnerships with parents while fostering an engaging and positive culture in the classroom.
Elementary Teacher
Primary Responsibilities
This person is responsible for:
Fostering a classroom environment that promotes joy in learning and love of others
Designing lessons using recommended curriculum and/or other approved curriculum
Differentiating lessons to meet the needs of all students
Performing duties such as lunchroom, hall, and playground monitoring
Performing other related duties as directed by the Head of School
Participating in professional development in classical education
Interacts well with volunteer classroom help
Requirements
Qualified candidates will have: a commitment to Charleston Classical School; experience working with students from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds; a genuine caring attitude towards students; the ability to communicate clearly and establish effective, working relationships with students, parents, teachers, and staff; and the ability to be flexible working with various levels of students, subjects, and teaching methodologies. Charleston Classical School is looking for part time before / after school caregivers who are eager to care for students in an urban context. The ideal candidate would cultivate cordial relationships with parents while fostering an engaging and positive culture in the classroom and on the playground.
Before and/or After School Care
Primary Responsibilities:
Fostering a classroom environment that promotes joy in learning and love of others
Greets and interacts well with parents during drop-off and pick-up
Reinforcing behaviors an other skills learned in the classroom
Designing short lessons from the Nyansa curriculum and/or adapting games to foster learning at play 2 - 3 days per week
Performing other related duties as directed by the Head of School
Interacts well with volunteer classroom help

Charleston Classical School is looking for a Cafeteria Cook to plan, organize, supervise, and participate in the preparation, cooking, baking, serving of a variety of foods and clean up. The ideal candidate would cultivate cordial relationships with students and staff while fostering an engaging and positive culture from the kitchen to the lunchroom.
Cafeteria Cook
Primary Responsibilities:
Individual positions may not perform all the duties listed nor do these examples include all responsibilities of positions in this class.
Plan, supervise and participate in the major cooking, baking, and serving tasks.
Coordinate food donations and volunteer schedules.
Maintain proper sanitary conditions to meet health codes, including the cleaning of utensils, equipment, and facilities; assure the proper storage of food.
Establish needed quantities; requisition foodstuffs and supplies; maintain inventory.
Buy specific food items as necessary.
Perform related duties as assigned.
